A virtual avatar shaped by Melanie's likeness, her fashion, and the emotional world of her songs — layered over Venice Beach environments, making place and identity part of the visual language.
Obs Livestreams
Parts of the project are developed live, allowing audiences to witness the evolution in real time. One album within the Venice Beach Barbie project is produced through a fully live streamed creative process, incorporating real-time audience input into compositional and aesthetic decisions to explore questions of authorship, agency, and cultural influence in contemporary pop music production.
While technology plays a central role, Venice Beach Barbie remains, at its core, a music project using technology to explore performance, identity, and what it means to exist as an artist in an online world.
